Rebel Stitcher Designs The Birmingham Girls Sampler

Per Designer:
The Birmingham Girls Sampler honors the four young girls who were killed in the 1963 16th Street church bombing in Birmingham AL. As stitchers we often revere samplers stitched by school aged girls. The victims of this hatred were in the age range of school girl sampler stitchers. I used many traditional motifs and a cheerful color palette, along with a depiction of the 16th St church, to envision a celebratory sampler of the spirits of Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, Denise McNair. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this chart will be donated to the NAACP. Chart is 135 x 100 stitches. Model was stitched on 36 ct. linen in the colorway dirty brown by Xjudesign.
