Each square or block is 39 x 39 inclusive of its outline. Most of the individual patchwork blocks are 23 or 24 spaces square, with some exceptions that are more rectangular. Each installment in the series is one of the five horizontal rows shown on the large sampler. The border surrounding the entire design is charted so it can be stitched as one moves down from the top, row by row, and progressing in alpha order.
